Principals

Joanna Cali
Co-Founder
Joanna founded Calico Systems in 1999. Prior to that, she was a founding partner of Metro-Cali Graphics, a print marketing firm in New York City with clients including PepsiCo, The New York Power Authority, AIG and The New York Public Library. Metro-Cali provided PepsiCo's international POP advertising for over eight years.

She is a recognized expert in Internet marketing and Search Engine Optimization, and has appeared on radio, in print and given seminars, speaking and writing about Search Engine Marketing and web development.

Joanna is also a member of the HTML Writer’s Guild, the Westchester Business Council and its Creative and Marketing Council, and the International Association of Webmasters. She is also the publisher of Westchester's leading online wedding resource, Westchester-Weddings.com.

Michael Pilla
Co-Founder, Creative Director
A creative professional with over 30 years of experience in marketing communications, Michael founded mQuotient to take advantage of the many opportunities available via the Internet.

He was an Associate Creative Director for the Sponsorship Group at iVillage.com, where he was responsible for the creation of online advertising for companies such as Ford, PNC Bank and Clinique, and for Modem Media, where he created web sites for IBM, GE and UBS Warburg. Prior to that he was President of Pilla Marketing Communications a design studio that focused on packaging, corporate communications and editorial development.

A graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design, Michael has taught at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, Mercy College in White Plains, NY and at Pratt Institute in New York, NY. He also conducts Internet marketing seminars in the tri-state area and regularly writes and speaks on Internet marketing and small business issues.

Core Team

A graduate of Tufts University with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, James holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification and he is a Member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). James also held teaching positions as Adjunct Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the Univ. of Bridgeport and at the New York Institute of Technology.
James has over 20 years of hands-on experience in the Information Technology field and is an Internet presence visionary.

Steven Meek - Senior Web Developer
Steven is a Web and Software Developer specializing in systems analysis and web-based design patterns on both Windows and Linux platforms. For the past 6 years he has been working as a web developer and programmer/analyst. He also developed websites’ back-end and wrote customized database driven applications. Steven works directly with the client to understand business logic and build functional specifications. On the side he works on indie games and frequents programming contests such as Google Codejam and the Netflix Prize.

Megan Araula - Web Developer
Megan is one of the experts in front-end Web development at The Allen Group. She has worked on numerous Web 2.0 projects such as thebestlife.com, txwatches.com, and knackbooks.com. Her set of skills ranges from basic web design to HTML, CSS, Java Script, PHP and MySQL programming. She is also an expert in CMS and E-commerce development.

Megan graduated in 2007 with a BS Information Technology from the University of Asia and The Pacific, Philippines. While studying she worked for the IT division of San Miguel Corporation as a junior database administration. She also worked on various Web development projects in her spare time. The same year, Megan moved to United States and became a part of The Allen Group Development team.
