Development Process

Our collaborative process takes a project from defining goals and objectives, to implementation to ongoing support, with required client approval at key points along the way.

Discovery
We start with two simple questions.

  • Who do you want to reach?
  • What do you want them to do?

Through our initial conversations we learn about your business, your objectives, and the resources you have available. We discuss brand, viral marketing, search engine strategies and PR opportunities.

Content Audit
An inventory of content areas to assess how to re-purpose existing content and identify what new content may have to be created.

We create a Comprehensive Content Outline consisting of all content areas on the site.

Information Architecture
Based on the content outline, we create the following:

  • Site Map – A page-by-page breakdown of the site illustrating its functional and information flow, i.e., the relative position of each page and how pages link to each other.
  • Wire-Frame – A schematic of all the elements on key individual pages, illustrating how the page real estate will be utilized, i.e., the priority and position of page and navigation elements.

Design
With the structure in place, we then move on to developing the "look-and-feel."

  • Preliminary Concepts – Using the results of the wire-frame phase, we present three explorations of the design.
  • Iterations – We make revisions to the initial presentation based on client feedback. A final “Look and Feel” is submitted for approval.

Production
Putting all the pieces together.

  • Style Sheets (formatting and typographic attributes) are created based on the approved design.
  • Asset Creation – Final art/content creation and implementation
  • Programming – Creation and testing of programming elements
  • Coding – Implementing of the final design, final HTML pages and programming elements are integrated.

Quality Assurance (QA)
Final Testing and then launch.

  • Site Testing – In all major current Internet browsers and platforms
  • HTML Check
  • Client Approval

Campaign Support
We remain available for technical and marketing assistance post-launch.
